You might have encountered a “holy cow” sort of story making the point about the disarray in which Donald Trump finds his campaign: a 12-year-old is, for all intents and purposes, in charge of Trump's ground game in Jefferson County, Colorado, the home of Coors beer and the Coors family’s right-wing money. Laurel Imer is officially the field coordinator for the Republican-leaning, fourth-most populous county in this swing state, but she openly admits to delegating her job to her son Weston Imer — at least until school begins next month.
Strange enough, right? A testament to The Donald’s incredibly incompetent campaign, one devoid of both personnel and strategy. But just check this photo of Wes Imer with his parents at The Daily Mail. And compare it to the unidentified young man in Samantha Bee’s Full Frontal segment on an evangelical convention in Colorado, “Born Again in the U.S.A.” Particularly peruse the YouTube video at the 2:05 and 3:50 marks. Who will you see? None other than the photogenic and very articulate Weston Imer. Not that that stopped the show’s reporter from referring to young Weston as “this Jerry Falwell in blond larval form.” And I admit that I laughed.
